My Story

I have applied for the London Marathon for more years than I can remember so it was a fantastic surprise to receive a ballot entry.  I came across Little Lifts when a running friend Barbara Button (fellow member of Coltishall Jags Running Club & regular at Brundall Parkrun) ran a marathon and raised a significant sum of money for Little Lifts and my business made a donation towards Barbara's fantastic effort.  As a result I was invited to evening event in Norwich celebrating Little Lifts and its achievements.  Since then Little Lifts has always resonated with me.  The idea of the boxes was inspired and the team involved are so dedicated, passionate and enthusiastic.

I was reminded about the charity more recently when my 90 year old mother passed away on Valantines Day.  She had breast cancer during her life, and whilst Little Lifts didn't exist at the time of her cancer she knew of the charity.  This is a big added incentive for me to complete those 26.2 miles on 26th April.

I started running 10 years ago to lose weight and since I have not stopped running, enjoying the camaraderie of both my local parkrun in Brundall and running club.  I have never run more than a half marathon, so this is an opportunity to test myself, inject some much needed enthusiasm back into my running and play a small part in raising not only money but the profile of this amazing charity.

Any donation you can make is much appreciated.
